I kept seeing this title pop up favorably amongst my friends. I was hoping to get this for audio review and my wish came true💜

Scheduled for release in November, this is the 23rd book in Karen Rose’s series, one of my most favorite. And, we’re back in Cincinnati this time. I’ll have time to finish #22 before this comes around.

This was offered for audio review and I decided to take a chance on this new-to-me author because several of my friends reviewed it favorably, the premise sounds so good and the narrator slate of multiple performers includes some of my favorites.

When a sudden storm threatens the coasts of Florida and South Carolina, an eclectic group of evacuees flee for the farm of their friends Grace and Charles Phillips in North Carolina: the Phillips’s daughter Moira and her rescue dogs, famed equestrian Javier Angel de la Cruz, makeup artist Hannah McLain, horse breeder Gerda Klug and her daughter Elise, and island resident Cara Rutledge. They bring with them only the few treasured possessions they can carry. Strangers to all but the Phillips, they must ride out the storm together.

During the course of one of the most challenging weeks of their lives, relationships are put to the test as the evacuees are forced to confront the unresolved issues they have with themselves and with each other. But as the storm passes, they realize that what really matters wasn’t what they brought with them to the mountains: but what they’ll take with them once they leave.

Oh, this sounds like a delicious summer read. I recommended the audiobook for library purchase and they bought it the next day!

Mortified to discover the Daxton Hughes was also a student in her class, her embarrassment over their meet-cute quickly turned into a friendship she never expected. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming either…

Now, eight years later, Dax is in her office asking for legal advice. Despite her anger, Kailyn can’t help feeling sorry for the devastated man who just became sole guardian to his thirteen-year-old sister. But when her boss gets wind of Kailyn’s new celebrity client, there’s even more at stake than Dax’s custody issues: if she gets Dax to work at their firm, she’ll be promoted to partner.

The more time Kailyn spends with Dax and his sister, the more she starts to feel like a family, and the more she realizes the chemistry they had all those years ago is as fresh as ever. But will they be able to forgive the mistakes of the past, or will one betrayal lead to another?

I keep collecting books by this author because so many of my friends love them. This just showed up in my library so I’m in the library queue for the audiobook as this one sounds really good. It will probably be the first one by Hunting I listen to.

Do we change or does the world change us?

I took a pass on this one when offered for audio review and then proceeded to read one favorable review after another from my friends. Then my library bought it and I jumped into the queue.

And through these people, the ones who left him behind, he tells the story of his own life, with all its regrets and feuds, loves and triumphs.

This book is rated either 4.5 or 5 stars by so many of my friends so I grabbed the audiobook when it showed up at my library.

Truthfully, I’m more interested in the second book in this series, The Paris Diversion. I don’t read out of order so I’m starting here. It sounds pretty good! Thanks again to my library💜

This title showed up in my Audible Daily Deal email today. I was prepared to buy it for $3.95 but first checked to see the price of the Kindle edition. It was $1.99 and I could then get the Audible edition for another $1.99. So, for $.03 more I got both editions for an author I’ve enjoyed.
