Positivity Wave

The Positivity Wave #9

The Positivity Wave
Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog,  I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.

Smile

I’ve made it my mission to return to smiling. It used to be my resting position but it somehow had gotten lost over the last couple of years. Well, the responses just keep being amazing. I’m striking up informal conversations with and getting positive reactions from so many people, all ages and walks of life. And, it’s making me feel great emotionally and physically. Try it.

Twitter Love

We bloggers don’t do what we do looking for love but it sure feels good when we get it. Author Mary Kubica sent me a kind message in response to my recent review💜

iPad Air

I got a new iPad Air from hubby for Christmas (more storage) and my old one was still perfectly fine. I have a hard time getting rid of things but my sister finally admitted she didn’t have one. I shipped it on Monday and she got it Wednesday (UPS love) and is happy with her new toy! I love seeing her happy.

NYPD Blue
I used to watch this series when it originally aired but stopped around the sixth or seventh season when I got behind (no DVR back then). Well, I recently discovered the series on Amazon Prime Video and have binged an entire season (#10)! That’s a big deal because back in the day, there were more than 20 episodes in a single season. It’s been my new nighttime salvation.💜

  • Finished up July with a record 5 5-star books and 16 books read!
  • My left eye became irritated this week, taking me out of my contacts, which makes reading harder. Cleared up yesterday and I’m back in my contacts.
  • Found my pair of animal print sandals that I’d misplaced since last summer! Still loving them.
  • Had a serious plumbing disaster but hubby came to the rescue and had everything resolved in 5 minutes…just before I was calling a plumber.
  • My ponytail is saving me from the oppressive heat days and I’ve not had any discomfort since I started sporting it. I’m a different person because of it.

What positivity waves hit you this week?

  1. I love that you made your sister happy by giving her your old iPad. We did that too when we upgrade our iPads, giving family our old iPad minis. It’s so good to see people’s faces light up when you gift them something. Even when used. 😀

Have a great weekend, Jonetta. xx

      1. I’m glad I could help 💕 when my sister gave me her old one it actually helped me massively as I wasn’t in a great financial state and never could’ve afforded it on my own. I was doing in-company trainings at the time and ended up being able to use it for work, which was a life-saver. And it was my introduction to ebooks, which I was totally not interested in before. But I was trying not to buy books because I knew I had some upcoming moves and I didn’t have good library access so was barely reading. I finally gave in and bought an ebook and you can imagine where that led 😉 letting go of stuff can be really hard (I’m terrible about it) but sometimes it helps someone else more than you know!!!

  2. I love how you look for positive things. It really changes the way we look at life. This week, I took my friend to the doctor (she has cancer) and we got great news that the tumors are shrinking. I baked 2 loaves of banana bread and gave one to a lady from my church, I cut my grass today and there was a breeze, I went to a play, Rocky the musical, with my sister and friend. my friend’s husband came home from the hospital this week after almost 4 weeks in the hospital, I spend a day with my two youngest grandchildren and I read some good books. Have a great week.

  3. LOVE this. You are such a good sister sharing your iPad. I use mine until they literally die, but my last one just wouldn’t, and when I bought a new one, it meant I could rotate between the two when one is charging. I would feel much better if I had shared it!

Also, the ponytail…I hate wearing my hair up (my face looks extra round when I do), but I am a different person these days if I have my hair up. It is SO HOT, Jonetta. I knew exactly what you meant by the above.

I’m glad your eye is better and that the plumbing disaster was fixed. I hope you have a great weekend! ♥️

    1. Thank you, Jennifer! It feels weird to hold onto those old iPads so you get what it meant to find it a good home. I’ve recently lost a lot of weight and now feel comfortable wearing a ponytail. Like you, I thought my face was too round but it doesn’t anymore and it beats the heat something fierce!

      Have a wonderful weekend, friend💜

  4. We are watching Bosch Season 4 now, but i’m always on the look out for detective shows. NYPD Blue sounds like something the BF would enjoy 😀
A few weeks ago i was ready to get my hair chopped off cuz of the heat. My hair guy was horrified by the idea, and said “you know you can just tie it up!!!??” 😀 So yea, ponytails for the win!

    1. OMG, I LOVE Bosch💕💕💕 We’ve watched the first 3 seasons at least three times and the 4th twice. The 5th season was a little different but I’m sure we’ll go back to it soon. NYPD Blue is an older series but if he likes Bosch, hubby will like this. My hair woman reminded me when I asked for a buzz cut that I’d specifically grown it out for a ponytail. Since I was wearing it super curly, I didn’t realize how long it was! Yeah, definitely ponytails for the win🥳

      1. Oh that’s sure Bosch love! ❤
I had this grandiose plan that i will totes read the books, but i think at this point there are just too many of them, and they will be much too different.

        1. My husband watched the first season before listening to the books. He’s had to make regular 4-hour road trips this year so I’ve loaded the books from the series onto his phone for him to listen. We’re now up to date in the TV series and he’s about halfway through the book series and still enjoying them so hope that’s helpful. I’m one book behind in the book series. Since the TV series does mashups of several books at a time, there are real differences between the two but the essence of the character remains pure.
