Positivity Wave

The Positivity Wave #10

The Positivity Wave
Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog,  I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.

Life and Other Inconveniences

I was turned down for the NetGalley book, first time ever in 7 years for this author. And, it wasn’t included in the 3rd quarter offerings by the audiobook publisher. So, I reached out to the publisher and she’s sending it to me! And! A friend is sending me her extra print copy!!! I love everything this author writes so picture me wearing a big, big, smile🥰

Good Morning

Everyday I start my morning with a greeting from Susan @ Susan Loves Books. What a lovely way to start my day💜

The Bold and the Beautiful

Please don’t judge me for this guilty pleasure😬

I don’t have many but I’ve watched this show for years (I’ve tried many times to quit). This week, a storyline I’ve HATED has finally been exposed. The good guys are winning for a change. If you follow the show, you know how big it is!

My Front Yard
Speaking of mornings…I wake up really early and this is my view every morning💜

  • I got shout outs from Mary Kubica, Harlequin Books and Simon & Schuster Audio for three of my reviews😍
  • Shipped a lot of gently worn clothes to someone special as they are now too big for me. That someone is also losing weight and these are new, lower sizes for her!
  • I had a serious problem with my computer and I was able to fix it!
  • Two audiobooks I was hoping to get for review came through this week!
  • We received a significant chunk of money due us that we’d all but given up on. It doesn’t completely pay off the total debt but it’s a huge dent!

What positivity waves hit you this week?

  1. What a gorgeous morning view! Looks so peaceful!

How wonderful that you got the money you were due after being close to giving up. A few years ago that was my situation with a building management company that hadn’t returned my deposit TWO YEARS after I moved. They were kind of crooked and I didn’t live in that country anymore, they’d stopped answering emails and phone was disconnected. One day I just had a feeling out of nowhere (I know how crazy this sounds, but it really happened this way) that I should check that old bank account, even though it had like, $2 in it just to keep it open. A couple of days before, the apartment security deposit had been deposited there in full. It seemed like another company had bought the first one and paid out what was owed, that was all I could figure. I could’ve cried, I was so happy. I’d really given up on it.

All to say — I know how that feels and what it can mean to you and I’m happy you had that happen for you!!! 💕🤗

      1. That’s such a sweet saying!! This made me smile even to recall it, so thank you for mentioning your own experience and bringing me back the memory of that happy, totally unlikely moment. Wish you a lovely weekend ahead!

  3. Oh, I love that you’re getting the audio from the author, that’s wonderful news. Like Kathleen Kent sending me an ARC of her next book. We too try to recycle clothes when they’re almost new rather than throw away. I loathe buying anything unless I really want it because we generate so much waste already.

And yes, we too are blessed to have a lovely view out our windows, onto a park and greenery. So much to be thankful for. Have a great weekend. xx

  4. A LOT of great things for you this week! Or, maybe just your very positive outlook that makes it seem like a windfall of goodness. I enjoyed taking my son on a college visit this week — lots of laughing on a scenic road trip.

      1. I am not looking forward to it! (weep!) Thankfully, after this one leaves (#3), I’ll still have one at home for a couple more years. Hopefully, I’ll be used to the idea by the
time it’s his turn to go.

  5. What great things happening to you and around you this week. I too, enjoy Susan’s Good Morning posts, they are always so uplifting. My wonderful things this week include spending time with my grandkids again this week, going to the doctor for my check up and having him tell me I lost 5 pounds, and spending the weekend with my daughter in Toronto, Ontario, riding the subway, going out for dinner and then off to the theatre to experience The Lion King. Have a great weekend Jonetta.

  6. Terrific news on all counts, Jonetta! Glad you have so much goodness in your life.
We are still with the twins who just turned three months old this week. We also had fantastic news that our youngest daughter is pregnant and due on February 14th! 🤱
My reading is so off but an upcoming trip back home to VA will give me a big chunk of time to read. Have a terrific upcoming week! 🌸
