That’s so impressive, Jonetta! I’ve got to get back to my audible books. I just got new headphones since I inadvertently washed my other ear buds. 🙄

Thanks, Marialyce! Ouch on those ear buds😬 My headphones, gifted from hubby, are my coveted treasure.

Well done! Audiobooks have been an absolute game changer in my reading. Any favourites from this list?

Thanks, Kristin💜 Oh, I’ve got so many favorites up there but what tops the list is When the Crawdads Sing. It was perfect in every way. Close second is Once Upon a River. But, there’s not a bad one in the bunch.

I have both of those! I am at the beach for all of August and brought them with me. So happy to see you loved them!

Wonderful list. There are some on here that I want to check out. I just updated my list and was quite surprised to see I had listened to 106 so far this year. I need to get a better pair of headphones, something bluetooth that won’t break the bank. What kind do you have Jonetta?

Thanks, Carla! My headphones were gifted to me by hubby and they might break the bank. But, they’re worth every penny. They’re Bose wireless with sound suppression. I don’t leave home without them.

I will have to see what I can find. I have seen some other ones recommended. Maybe I should post and ask for suggestions. I use speakers when I am home, but it is tough when out walking or exercising or cutting grass etc.

Oh! And I have you to thank for the format. I was struggling to figure out a way (was just doing a search on the tags) until I saw your list.

That’s a long list! I’m impressed. I love listening to the narration while I’m reading the story on my Kindle, I tend to lose focus and drift off with audiobooks if not. 😉

I’ve heard that a lot, Flora. I know I’m highly susceptible to distraction so I only listen when I know I won’t be (doing mundane chores or in the car during an easy drive).

I love audiobooks, but my list can probably hide in a little corner of your list… I recognise a lot of the titles, but I think the only one I have read is Miracle Creek. Once Upon a River is definitely on the wish list!

Those two rank in my top 5 for the year, Stargazer! I strongly recommend them.

52, wow that’s an amazing list! Maybe you should make a top 10 for anyone who wants to start with audiobooks? You never know I might give it a go someday :-).

Inge, I do at the end of the year (top 12). And, with very few exceptions, most on this list are all recommended, though I have my favorites😏 Are you not into audiobooks?

I tried it twice I think and never made it past the first two chapters, I was distracted (although I was just sitting in a chair outside) and it frustrated me that I didn’t hear half of it. I did listen to a whole book on BBC Radio Book at Bedtime though and that went well so maybe it’s easier in bed… We don’t have an audiolibrary here with English books though so I’d have to buy it and it might be just a bit too expensive, if you consider that an ecopy is often 99p. Maybe I could do it once or twice a year though but then I want to be sure I have a great novel. I’ll look at your top 12 at the end of the year and maybe spoil myself for the new year!!

I have a couple of genres I prefer on audio as I tend to not get distracted with them (mystery/thrillers & fantasy). And, I get most of mine from the library. They’re too expensive to buy at the rate I listen to them!

Wow that’s fantastic! I wonder how many you’ll have listened to by the end of the year?

At the current pace, I expect that I’ll finish about 40 more!

Yay! You’ve met your goal for the year. Me too but I’ll keep right on listening. I increased my goal on a couple challenges since I am powering through a lot of books this year.
