The Positivity Wave #18

The Positivity Wave
Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog,  I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.

Family

I’m back working on my mother’s house and it’s always tough. But my two closest cousins came by two days in a row to make it easier. I cannot imagine a life without them.

Cooler Weather

Yesterday m it was 101 degrees (F) and I thought I’d faint. Today? A beautiful and cool 80 degrees. I can breathe again.

SoldYes, this week it’s all about my mother’s house…found a home for most of the remaining furniture!

  • Found a hidden slow cooker at Mom’s and made my chicken chili.
  • The traffic was a breeze getting here.
  • Finally connected with one of Mom’s dear friends who helped me during her illness and had a great time.
  • Two of my wishlist audiobooks were offered for review!
  • The book series I recommended for a group read was selected!

What positivity waves hit you this week?

  1. Oh, I so want that poster about family, and so glad to hear you got the house sold. I hope that brings more peace of mind, as does connecting with your mum’s old friend.

Btw, I’ll swap you croissants for your chilli recipe! 😀

    1. Oops! I sold the furniture…the house is still a work in progress emptying. I’m almost there😏

Here’s my easy-peasy chili recipe: 1 large can of kidney beans, one large jar of salsa (your heat choice) and chicken breast. Optional: add black beans and frozen corn. Mix all ingredients and place chicken on top in slow cooker. Cook for 6 hours.

  2. I love hearing about your successes! I’d also be interested in hearing your chicken chili recipe. M Mom’s house sold this week so next weekend I’ll be going to make decisions with my brother on what we want to keep. (She’s in a nursing home now)

  3. Such a nice week, although a bit bittersweet I am sure. It was 92 here in NY yesterday but today, it was a beautiful 66 fall day. Had a great walk to the library with the twins. Also decided we are all moving to North Carolina. Big change coming up. Our Va house will go up for sale in April.
    Have a wonderful weekend, Jonetta!

      1. We are looking at Winston Salem and Greensboro. My husband and my daughter are going to tour about the first weekend in November. We already have connected with an agent. She will need to find us two houses.
        I will keep you updates.

  4. Thank you for reminding me about focusing on the positive things, Jonetta! Your post was especially helpful to me this week. Our weather here has gone from 90 degrees to 37 degrees in a day. I think autumn has arrived! Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. Thinking of you during this time. If you can remain so positive, so can I…I had a very productive week at work and am finding some time to write on this quiet morning. Both are very positive things! Be well~

  7. Sounds like you looked for the positives in a bittersweet week Jonetta. I know how much stuff I brought home when we cleaned out and sold my mom’s house over 20 years ago. Now that I am starting to declutter my house, I am finally saying good-bye to some of those treasures. It is nice when the weather breaks and I am glad it has begun to happen for you.
