The Positivity Wave #60

The Positivity Wave
Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog,  I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.

I’m Grateful

I know deep in my heart that I have lots to be grateful for in the midst of all the worldwide worry and concern. If I keep my focus on gratitude, I’ll feel its constant presence.

Major Crimes
I previously binge watched The Closer so naturally I had to turn to the spinoff, Major Crimes. I believe I watched the final season when it originally aired but my memory is spotty. Well, I went on a binge last Saturday and now I’m up to the final season. Just crazy but the series is addictive. My guilty pleasure.

Healthy Numbers

I put off going to see my doctor because I was fearful of the numbers. Turns out my fears were misplaced. Everything was down, significantly, and in normal ranges except for my BP, which she thought was due to my nervousness and had no concerns. This is fantastic news🥰

Card Sleeve

I have looked for this kind of card sleeve forever! I use them for rewards, insurance and medical cards along with my money (ignore the credit cards you see in the pic..my own teal version didn’t photograph well). There isn’t room for them in my main wallet and I like keeping them separate I don’t use this stuff often. One came with one of my purses many years ago and I’ve not been able to replace it (wore it out). Imagine my glee when this showed up on View Your Deal for only $6!

Okay, it’s that time of the year and Hallmark-esque movies have started. I watched this fun one this week and loved it!

Rain Storm

We got lots of wind and rain yesterday because of Hurricane Zeta, causing lots of power outages and downed trees here. I was blessed to only have three quick power hits, lasting only seconds. All is calm today.

  • Hubby made short ribs this week…OMG they were delicious!
  • I wrote my sister’s resignation letter yesterday…it’s now real!
  • Family Zoom call this week was one big laugh fest😂
  • I cooked fresh salmon and shrimp this week and it was delicious.
  • I hate doing laundry and got it all done this week.
  • My nephew had a difficult conversation to navigate and called me for help! He came through it just fine.

I continue to pause and reflect upon the people and things in my life that truly matter. For that, I’m grateful.

What are you grateful for in this moment?

  1. Oh, like you I loved The Closer, and yes, thoroughly enjoyed Major Crimes too, the humour kept it in a league of its own. And congrats on the numbers, that’s great news. I have managed to get all mine down too. Even my BP, from walking! So be proud of yourself.

Where did you get the card wallet, it’s just what I’m looking for. Let me know if you can.

And short rib? Oh how I wish. We’re eating left overs tonight. We do it once a week to finish off stuff and not be wasteful. So I’m having homemade tomato soup and left over roast beef on a sandwich. Yum!

  2. Love this, as always, Jonetta. You are such a caring aunt and sister. Congrats on your numbers! I was doing the same, but a couple of mine were not good. Nothing I can’t work on and nothing too serious but definitely pointed to the stress of the pandemic. I lost power and internet yesterday, and the latter was off for almost 24 hours. Thank goodness for phone hot spots. 😂 I hope you have a great weekend, my friend!

    1. Thank you, Jennifer💜 I’m pulling for you to get your numbers to a safe zone. Stress can be so debilitating to our bodies and souls. Really sorry you lost power for so long. I was certain I would as we normally do. That’s why I posted my good fortune here. I can hotspot, too (so grateful for that!) but it’s so much better when that’s not necessary.

      Have a great week!

  3. Wow what a glorious week! I’m so happy for your healthy numbers. We’re also big fans of salmon and shrimp. I know exactly how it is when you get something which organizes things perfectly too. Here’s hoping next week will be stellar!

  4. So happy about your excellent checkup! A resignation letter…there’s none better! I have been watching scary stuff on netlix, getting in the Halloween mood. (eating candy as I scare myself!)
Can’t wait to see the grandchildren in their Halloween finery. We have one Endo dragon and the twins are Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.

    Happy Halloween!

  5. Congrats on your numbers! I love salmon!!! So good for you and tasty, too! Actually I don’t mind laundry as much as some other tasks! I had to deal with no wifi for 3 days last week and it was a trial! I wrote a blog post in a Macdonald’s parking lot so I could grab their WiFi connection! 😂

  6. Congratulations on your numbers. I know how hard it can be and great it feels to hear they are in the normal range. I go back to the doctor in a month and will find out about mine. I don’t think it is good news. I now have two more shows to add to my binge watch list. I am still working my way through Gilmore Girls and loving it. Too bad about the hurricane and the damage it did all over, but glad you didn’t have much of an impact. I love how close and caring you are with your family, it is awesome to have that closeness. Have another great week coming up Jo.

  7. Wonderful post as usual, Jonetta. Good to hear you are perfectly healthy and that the hurricane didn’t affect you too much. I’ve always thought it must be scary to live in an area exposed to hurricanes (or earth quakes…). Mmmm, salmon and shrimps sounds delicious!
