I will never forget the day. It was one of the most beautiful mornings, the skies couldn’t have been clearer. I will also remember with absolute clarity what later unfolded. And, I will always honor and remember the resilience and bravery of those who helped those in need that day. We came together as a country like we’ve never done before. Maybe that part of the remembrance will change some hearts today.
WE should never forget this most tragic day. It is ever so vivid in our minds and heart. Thank you for remembering, Jo!

Your message to me last week touched me deeply. We used to share our experience of that day regularly and we’ve gotten pretty quiet about it in the last few years. We should never, ever forget.

A day that changed so many lives. Just thinking about watching it all unfold on the news brings tears to my eyes again. As FDR said about the bombing of Pearl Harbor, “a date which will live in infamy”

That’s a perfect comparison, Carla. I’ll always remember every aspect of that day.

I lived in NY right out of college and spent a lot of time in lower Manhattan for work. Weirdly enough, I refused to visit the WTC because I feared a plane would it it, accidentally. So, I was at work here in NC when the first plane hit and just thought my always fear had happened. I had no idea it was a terrorist attack and it took a while that morning for me to “get” what was happening. I was under extreme deadlines for a meeting that day related to a big merger and missed so much of what was going on. It wasn’t until I went to see the meeting leader and found her crying that I became present to what was going on. I was glued to the coverage when we were told to go home and on the first anniversary, I took the day off and stayed home to relive what everyone else had experienced.

I can’t even imagine. I was already in NC at the time. It was just a normal day and then the news broke in to my morning tv show, and I could barely tear myself away from the tv to go pick up the girls from preschool. We were all to shocked to even speak words that day.
