Megan is living the perfect life. Three years ago, she met Craig, and they married after a few months, both madly in love with each other. He’s a successful banker and buys them a house in the country, asking her to quit her job to live a life a ease and luxury…and isolation. Now she’s bored and craving interactions with people and friendships that a job provides so she applies for one, to Craig’s dismay. That’s when we learn that Craig’s not quite the loving and doting husband Megan thinks he is.
Told from both Megan and Craig’s points of view, the story takes on a Hitchcockian feel as we see the clueless Megan continue pursuing the job that the hapless and relentless recruiter Sally offers her. Meanwhile, Craig is tracking her emails and growing angrier as she secretly continues her pursuit. I instinctively knew there was so much more I didn’t know and was listening for clues that would tell me who Megan and Craig were before they married.
I can’t say much else without spoiling everything but will say it is a twisty story that took me down many paths of speculation except the right one. I listened to it and the two narrators played their parts exceptionally well, not giving me a clue beyond what the story chose to reveal until the end. I didn’t see what was coming until it was laid bare, giving me an “open jaw” conclusion. This is the kind of story you’re going to love or hate, there’s no in between. I’m on the side of loving it!

It’s a LOT creepy in a very strange way. It’s short so I whipped through it in one sitting.
