I discovered this tag when Justine @ Bookish Wisps posted it in December. I liked it and she tagged me to do this Zodiac Sign Tag. My answers are based on what I read in 2018.

Aries: Aries is the warrior of the zodiac. Name your favorite “strong female character.”

It’s Detective Eve Dallas from J. D. Robb’s In Death series, hands down. She’s tough, smart, formidable and doesn’t suffer fools.

Taurus: Taureans are known for loving the finer things in life. What food/drink from a book would you like to try?

I would love to have breakfast at Biscuit Girl, the cafe owned by Devlyn Drake in All My Life by Prescott Lane. It’s the daily hangout location for all things sinful to eat. Plus, Devlyn wears a different colored tutu everyday. What could be more delicious?

Gemini: Geminis value interpersonal communication. Name your favorite character friendship.

That would be the friendship between Emerson, Georgia and Marley in Good Luck With That by Kristan Higgins that began at a summer camp for overweight girls and is everlasting. It’s a bond they were unwilling to break.

Cancer: Cancers are the most emotional of the signs. What book have you thrown/wanted to throw across the room?

Oh, it’s The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter. Will Trent, the main character for whom the series is named, drove me to madness. I love this guy but he tested me in this story.

Leo: Leos have a great desire for popularity. Name a character you want more people to love.

Frank Malloy, the NYPD detective sergeant in the Gaslight Mystery series by Victoria Thompson, is one of the uncorrupted policemen on the force but can’t get respect from the people in the turn of the 19th century New York because of their well-deserved reputation.

Virgo: Virgos always want things to be logical. What book confused the heck out of you?

Tin Man by Sarah Winman has to be the most confounding book ever that I ended up loving with its confusing presentation (not much punctuation), lyrical prose and elusive narratives. It seemed to lack logic and that made it beautiful.

Libra: Libras are all about right and wrong. What decision by a book character do you wish you could undo?

Celaena Sardothien’s decision in The Assassin and the Empire by Sarah J. Maas forever changed her and the course of her life. The whole time I kept thinking, “No, no, no! Don’t do this!” This was one time I wanted to be wrong.

Scorpio: Scorpio is the sign associated with death. What character would you kill if you could?

I’m not one to wish death on anyone but….that would be Angie Polaski from the Will Trent series by Karin Slaughter. Those who are current in the series are nodding their heads vigorously right now. Just trust us on this one.

Sagittarius: Sagittarians love freedom and travel. Name a location from a book you’d love to visit (can’t be Hogwarts).

I fell in love with the town of Virgin River in the series of the same name by Robyn Carr. There is such a spirit of community in this California mountain town. *sigh* Brings back really great memories.

Capricorn: Capricorns are wise beyond their years. What mentor/teacher from a book do you wish you could learn from?

Henry Miloux in the Cork O’Connor series by William Kent Krueger. He’s an Anishinaabe Indian and a Midewiwin medicine man who has unfathomable wisdom. His guidance isn’t literal so you have to clear your mind to understand his meanings.

Aquarius: Aquarians are known for their rebellion. If you had to, what revolution from a book would you join?

I’d join the group in New Hope from Year One by Nora Roberts. They’re desperately trying to create a new society not based on fear and bigotry against those who have special gifts. I’d like to think I’d be of their mindset.

Pisces: Pisces never stop dreaming. What book/series did/do you wish would never end?

I have a tie! I wasn’t ready for The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan and Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren to end. I just loved the people in these stories and their relationships. It was enough but I was greedy for more.
