The Positivity Wave #11

The Positivity Wave
Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog,  I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.

Let Me Eat Cake

I absolutely love cake but eliminated it from my diet a year ago. I’ve craved it for a week so I decided to just deal with it. My favorite diner gave me a teeny tiny piece today…for free! It was delicious, craving is over and I’m over it🎉🎉🎉

Audio Headphones

This week, I finished two audiobooks that were the starts of new series and I was in audio heaven! One was a new author (Robert Dugoni) with a new favorite narrator (Edoardo Ballerini) and the other was an author I’d read once before (Michael Robotham). It’s just wonderful listening to two great books back to back.

Sprouts
A new farmer’s market grocery store, Sprouts, opened less than a mile from me. I came home with a sack full of veggies…corn, green beans, tomatoes, cukes, etc… that I promptly cooked/prepared and they were delicious (cheaper, too)!

Libraries Rock
My library came through with not one, not two but FOUR of my audiobook recommendations!💜

  • Hubby went out of town for an overnight and I got a free evening with no remote control competition😏
  • One of my best friends got out of a job she hated and found one she loves.
  • We scored a win with our beach house financing, saving a ton of money.
  • Lost 2.8 lbs in the last two weeks!
  • A really dear friend decided to join WW to begin to tackle her weight, which is affecting her health. I never said a word…she was inspired by my progress.

What positivity waves hit you this week?

  1. What a great week, Jonetta! You always inspire me to look for positive things in my life. The Farmer’s market looked gorgeous and all these new audiobooks! Congratulations on your progress with WW, it is great that your friend decided to join the program 💜💜💜

  2. The grocery store looks amazing! I think I’d be tempted to spend a fortune in there 😉 The Robert Dugoni audio is in my library after reading your review so thanks for that! Many congrats on the weight loss too 💚

  3. Giving in to a craving is absolutely the best way, just my opinion. When I keep putting it off I always end up having way more than I should eventually. Especially with sweet stuff like cake (my fave too!) I find that a little goes a long way. Since cutting back on sugar I can’t believe how sweet some of the stuff I used to eat was, and how much, now just a little is plenty. All to say — yay you!!!

    1. I completely agree with you about cravings, Ren! That little piece of cake killed it. And, it was too sweet as I’ve also cut back drastically on sugar consumption. While I enjoyed the moment, it didn’t inspire me to want more. I’m done for quite some time. My last piece of cake was almost a year ago (my birthday).

    1. Thanks, Kris💜 Good luck on your journey. I believe it should be slow and deliberate because it requires a different way of thinking. That’s been my success as I’ve altered how I think about my body and myself. That had to change before I could have any chance of the weight loss sticking.

  4. Oh, I love that your diner gave you a free tiny piece of cake for your cravings. We cut out a ton of things ages ago, for health reasons, but don’t deny ourselves completely. But we do the same, we have a teeny tiny portion or serving of something only on really special occasions. And, it works.

And I’m always so grateful for the fact I live in a city that is surrounded by farms. We get tons of fresh farm products all year round. Never mind the cheeses! Hmm…

  5. What a fantastic week! I am really enjoying Robert Dugoni and will have to try the other series. I wish we had your library and Sprouts here. I don’t think we have Sprouts at all here. But I am enjoying Aldi having so many things and cheaper. Here’s to another great week ahead.

  6. So many positives for you this week. I am going to join in with this next week. It really helps me focus on the good things in my life when I read and respond to your and Nicki’s posts. This past week for me: my leg healed enough to get back in the pool, I read and listened to a few audiobooks, I found three honking zucchinis at a roadside stand for $1.00 apiece to grind up and use for making zucchini loaf, bars etc. My grandkids came over all day Friday and we had lots of fun, my church had a fundraising steak dinner and I had a great meal with some wonderful people and I scored veal parmigiana for a great price and it was amazing. Have a great week Jonetta.
