Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog, I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.
I found my center again and know deep in my heart that I have lots to be grateful for in the midst of all the worldwide worry and concern.
Got my hair done! Of course, she had to chop off about three inches because of my abuse but who cares. It looks wonderful and the gray has disappeared😏
I got an alert from Netflix about this series (Sweet Magnolias) checked out the trailer, decided to watch one episode and the next thing I know…finished 10 episodes in two days! It was a wonderful binge watch. Warning…Season #1 ends in major cliffhangers and they haven’t yet been approved for the next season. I don’t care…it was a fun ride.
I am so thankful for this new virtual technology. This week, I attended church via streaming, participated in our weekly family Zoom call, did my WW Virtual Workshop and had my first virtual doctor’s meeting. It is truly a blessing to be able to stay connected for things important to me while I shelter at home.
My sister celebrated her birthday this week and of course everything was virtual. She got a gazillion acknowledgments on Facebook, which made her so happy. I’m grateful to have a sister with such a beautiful soul.
I got four more audiobooks for review this week! And, my library bought the audiobook version of Fair Warning, which I’d recommended. I’m in a short queue.
The weather didn’t cooperate so no neighborhood walking. But! I did 10 minute laps around the house three days. Better than nothing, right?
Hubby surprised me and grilled ribs this week! I didn’t take a picture but they looked just like these. Better still, they were delicious. Stuck with my diet, though and only had two. And, he sautéed squash and zucchini to go along with them.
I’ve been reluctant to do in-store grocery shopping because so many weren’t wearing masks. But, scheduling deliveries has become exasperating so I ventured out early. I was so pleased to see that the majority of shoppers were wearing masks and respecting social distancing. I felt safe.
I continue to pause and reflect upon the people and things in my life that truly matter. For that, I’m grateful.
Oh, I so want to see Sweet Magnolias, that looks fun, as you say. And we definitely all need a little of this in our lives right now. Oh, happy birthday to your sister. And the zoom chats sound like family fun too, such a great way to keep in touch. I Skype and FT my niece, whose two little ones are growing fast.
Hope you get outside for your walks again, soon, too. I’m getting mine in, still so happy with that.

Alexandra, Sweet Magnolias has some serious drama but it’s still nice escapism. I just got lost in it, deliciously so🥰
That’s wonderful that you’re getting more intimate time with your niece and her kids. It makes such a difference doesn’t it?
It’s cloudy again today and the humidity is now becoming a concern (messes with my breathing) so, I think I’ll start doing my treadmill again. It’s a better alternative now.
Have a wonderful week💜

This is just my kind of show. I love these kind of dynamics, especially when they have heart too. Oh, yes, it’s been fun chatting with Katy, I get all the news from her about what everyone is up to. So I feel connected. She lives in the UK, so she shares the news about what’s happening there.
We’re having all sorts of weather, though mostly hot and humid, with the occasional downpour. Stay safe, and have a great weekend. 💛

Every time I see this meme post in my email I’m like Gimme Gimme, I need it. Deliveries have been easy here so I’m sorry you have had difficulty. But I also have seem so many without masks the times I have had to go out I am so stocked up on food and toiletries I feel like a hoarder. (I only have one extra of things so not really). But I’m worried about not being able to get things at some point. So I’m very careful to get another one ordered when we use one of something. I’m grateful to get everything even though some prices are higher.

I think that makes you a “prepper” Anne😏 I’m right along with you! It’s smart thinking to keep an eye on your supplies.
The Harris Teeter I use seems to be a safe shopping place if I go early. It’s not crowded at that time and it’s an older group of shoppers. Still, I get in and out in about 15-20 minutes, bring my own bags and bag my own groceries.
Have a wonderful weeked💜

Yay and now I know about Sweet Magnolias. I have been in the grocery store a few times and I do feel very safe. I also ventured to HomeGoods today and it was wonderful wondering the aisles which were not crowded and most people did have on their masks. I do love to shop so this was a great morning for me!
Glad you had an excellent week. We intend to get together with the kids again this weekend. They are definitely our joy in life.
I agree, Jonetta, walking this week was basically a no go and today seems no different. If we do go out, I am sure it will downpour.
Tried a few new recipes and went on a sorta diet! 🙂
Enjoy the weekend!

I’m so glad you’re getting time with those grandbabies, Marialyce💜 That has to make this sheltering less bothersome. I know what you mean about being able to move around. I’ve always hated grocery shopping but now it’s my one shot for being outside around people. Never thought I’d miss that so much.
Good recipes? Did they turn out okay? I’m cooking a bit more, too, but my repertoire is quite limited.
Have a wonderful weekend!

It looks like you had another great week Jo. Sweet Magnolias looks wonderful, I will have to see if Netflix in Canada has it. I too, am so grateful for technology. I can’t imagine what going through this would have been like without it. I just got back from having my haircut. First one since the beginning of February and I love it. Have an amazing weekend.

Thank you for this wave of positivity, Jonetta! I especially appreciate your mentions of the family Zoom call and your sister. It’s giving me ideas. We used to do a family blog that sort of eventually just disappeared, maybe it’s time to Zoom. We even used to do a family book club! I miss that.

Oh, you must try to do that Zoom call! My cousin’s wife organized it about six weeks ago, intending for it to be a one-time thing and we just can’t let it go. We laugh the entire time.

I want to check out Sweet Magnolias too. We had ribs on Monday and my husband made them too. All I had to do was heat up the Bush beans!!🤣You had another awesome week Jo!💗😎📚

Susan, I KNOW you’d love Sweet Magnolias! I never read the books, though.
I should have made beans…completely forgot! Was distracted by the ribs I didn’t know he was making😏
Have a great week, Susan💜

I have experienced lots more delivery times available for our area recently! I especially like Walmart pickup at their super center store! No shopping fee, no tip allowed, no pick up charge, and I can get a next day pick up time. They’ve been great! I may never go shopping again!
Having a sister is a blessing! I have one here and one in heaven.
So much to be grateful for! 😍

Carol, it started out that way with Walmart until they got overwhelmed and I couldn’t schedule a delivery unless I was one of the first in the morning to try. Gave up. But! I’m really happy it’s working in your area because when it was working, I loved it.
I agree, so much to be grateful for💜
