They may be new/scheduled releases I’ve seen on NetGalley, at the library, or from publishers or they may be older titles my friends have reviewed and shared on Goodreads or blogs.

Okay. The only reason I’m giving this a shot is because it’s a Read With Jenna Book Club selection and so far, I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read from their list. I gave it a pass when it was offered for review but buckled under when the audiobook showed up at my library.

Grann’s recreation of the hidden world on a British warship rivals the work of Patrick O’Brian, his portrayal of the castaways’ desperate straits stands up to the classics of survival writing such as The Endurance, and his account of the court martial has the savvy of a Scott Turow thriller. As always with Grann’s work, the incredible twists of the narrative hold the listener spellbound.

I am fascinated by stories involving historical disasters at sea and one of my Goodreads friends brought this one to my attention. Fortunately, my library came through with the audiobook and I’m in a short queue.

I was considering this when the audiobook  showed up at my library and then I saw the review by Tessa @ Tessa Talks Books, which sealed the deal. Fortunately, I’m now in a short queue because the line behind me is long.
