the setup…
Every Wednesday, Audrey bikes to her favorite video rental store, Keep It Classic, which only stocks vintage movies. The day and time is important because that’s when sweet old Mr. Hoffman comes in to renew the same movie starring 1960s starlet Katia Kelly. And then there’s Grant, the store owner who she has a bit of a crush on. However, on this Wednesday, Mr. Hoffman doesn’t show up. Grant assures her he’s fine but Audrey’s not convinced and sets out to do her own bit of snooping.

the heart of the story…
Audrey may be out of her league but her heart’s in the right place. Her efforts to find out whether Mr. Hoffman is in trouble lead to some scary moments. Even though her “relationship” with the man was limited at best, he was still important in her life. And so is Grant.

the narration…
Helen Laser has become one of my favorite narrators and she shines here. The storytelling was such that she gave nothing away while giving perfect voices to Audrey and Grant.

the bottom line…
This is such a nice landing for the final story in this collection. Audrey is that person who resorts to being a busybody for all the right reasons and everyone should have an “Audrey” looking out for them. I loved the ending.
