Welcome to my Friday feature! Created by the wonderful Meggy @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles, it’s a remedy against feeling down by creating a list of all the good things happening in my life this week. I became so inspired by her weekly posts and later also that by Nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog, I felt it was time to begin sharing my own good feelings. It can be anything, from the smallest gesture from a stranger to a major event in your life that alters the direction of your day. Maybe something here will bring a smile to you in the moment.
I know I featured this two weeks ago but it resonated even stronger this week. I was back in Virginia working on Mom’s house but this time my oldest sister joined me. We had dinner with my first cousin on Dad’s side, along with his wife and we celebrated our love and connection. It was fantastic. We had dinner the next night with our two cousins on Mom’s side that are like our sisters and the laughter never ended. This was the best time I’ve had all year AND I can finally see the end of the work.
The shrunk is gone!!! And, so is the living room furniture. Two rooms knocked out in one day.
One of my cousins twice removed on my Mom’s side had sent her some precious photos to enjoy while she was sick. Mom put them away and I never could find them. My cousin has been relentless in asking for them back for almost two years. Well, on Saturday, my sister found them! Turns out, they were the only family pictures my cousin had remaining on her mother’s side and they were rare! She had photos of great great aunts, great uncles and pictures of my grandmother I’d never seen. When I messaged her that they’d been found, she acknowledged she was in tears. It was a great moment.
- Finally got the occupancy permit for the beach house!
- The weather has taken a permanent turn and it’s so, so pleasant.
- I finished Life and Other Inconveniences by Kristan Higgins and it surpassed my high expectations.
- My vision of a glass being half full seems to have returned💜
- My older sister reached a new milestone in weight loss!
This post always resonates with me and is so needed by everyone Here’s to another great week!

Wow, you sound like your extended family is bigger than mine, and I thought mine was big enough! And I’m so happy you found those. missing photos, we had a similar hunt in our family when my Dad’s mum died, tracking down rare photos. And yes, we finally found them.

Alexandra, at one time, I had 49 living first cousins just on my mother’s side of the family alone!!!
It’s bothered me that I couldn’t find those photos, even before I knew how precious they are. Glad you were able to find yours, too.

Another amazing week in the books, Jonetta! I love your affinity for your cousins. I am the same way with my (Tidewater, VA!) cousins, and I realized as an adult that not everyone is that close with their cousins (not judging that at all either). My great aunts – I now only have two left- are/were just as precious as my grandparents, and I loved my great uncles, too, of course. Wow, I am really rambling. 😂 In short, I love my extended family too! ♥️

You’re not rambling! I see that you get it, Jennifer💜 Our immediate family is small but my extended one is huge…and close.

This really sounds like a great week and it must be super with a bit of family support and some good laughs, while you are sorting out your mother’s house (which I am sure must be tough). Lovely posts, I always enjoy the Positive Wave 😊
