John had only job to do as his brother Frank’s wingman…place his X-rated Valentine’s Day card on his fiancée’s windshield. What he actually does is place it on the wrong car, that belonging to hospice nurse Holly who is there to care for her grandmother. Worst wingman ever? Yes but his later effort to reach out and correct his mistake sets off a series of acts of kindness when it really mattered.

I’d only intended to read the Christina Lauren story in this collection but a good friend (yes, you Nicki!) pointed me to this next one. I’m forever grateful because not only did I really like John and Holly, I loved how they connected unsuspectedly. Karma was at work here as they continued to exchange notes via her car. There were other serendipitous interactions you’ll need to discover for yourself.

This story put me in a happy place. Best meet-cute ever and now I’m off to read/listen to more by Jimenez.
