Aiden Valentine has a problem. He’s the host of a late-night romance radio call-in show called Heartstrings and is now feeling rather cynical about love. That is until he gets a call from twelve-year old Maya Stone who wants romantic help for her mom. Lucie Stone has a nice life…a job she loves, a great co-parenting relationship with Maya’s father and wonderful friends…but her love life is nonexistent though she still believes in romance. She overhears Maya on the phone and unknowingly ends up on the Heartstrings call. Listeners want more of Lucie and before you know it, she’s the subject of the program going forward, with Aiden in charge of helping her find her love match.
the heart of the story…
If you’re reminded of Sleepless in Seattle you’re not wrong and it’s a really great thing. This is that story where you adore both characters and know they’re perfect for each other at the onset. Even the listeners know it but these two need to get there on their own. The journey is fun, a little bit sexy, often hilarious and not without some heart aching moments. I had such high expectations and worried they wouldn’t be met but it hooked me early and never let go.
the narration…
E. J. Bingham was wonderful as Aiden and Hathaway Lee’s sultry tone was ideal for Lucie. They elevated these characters off the pages and told the story with loving care.
the bottom line…
I didn’t want this story to end so I’m grateful it’s the start of a series. Lucie’s optimism and Aiden’s ailing heart made them the perfect match on the air and as a potential couple. The secondary characters were equally engaging, making this a well rounded listening experience. Ticked every single romance box.

Always a bonus! Somehow the way she writes her sexy scenes doesn’t bother me all that much though… Or at least in the Lovelight books they didn’t.
