the setup…
Clara Davenport returns to her home in New York from a special assignment for Davenport Innovation Creative, her family’s toy business. Instead of settling in, she walks into the middle of a PR crisis of their own creation in the town of Fraser Falls. Clara is dispatched there to “fix” the problem and learns that the town is upset because her colleague stole their latest doll design from the town’s toy maker. She sets out on a charm offensive and makes it her mission to bring tourists back to their town. But Jack Kelly, the toy designer who was duped, isn’t making it easy. He doesn’t trust anyone with the name Davenport, even though he can’t stop thinking about the red-haired wonder.

the heart of the story…
Clara’s heart is in the right place as she brings her unique talents to Fraser Falls, helping the small business owners improve their operations and marketing. She soon becomes a vital member of the town, to the chagrin of Jack Kelly, as she helps them prepare for a successful holiday season. He’s grumpy-ish but is the heartbeat and lifeline of the town, so say the residents. Even though Clara and Jack try to deny their attraction, they’re not fooling anybody.

the narration…
Teddy Hamilton and Christine Lakin are two favorites and ideal choices for their characters, bringing them to life in the storytelling. They delivered wonderful performances.

the bottom line…
There’s a lot to feel good about here, especially because of Clara and Jack. Both are people I’d be friends with and their romance was never in doubt. His adorable pooch Elf and the host of secondary characters help make this a lovely holiday listening experience.
