Leave It Up to Love by Kristy Woodson Harvey @kristywharvey @jorjeanamarie_ #CourtneyPatterson @brilliancepublishing @amazonpublishing #LeaveItUpToLove

the setup…
Even though Lilah Everwood’s first novel wasn’t the bestseller she’d hoped for, she still has new ideas for her next that has her excited. However, when she’s called to meet with her publisher, she learns they’ve got another idea in mind. Renowned regency romance writer Elizabeth Lancaster hasn’t been able to craft a sentence since her husband died three years ago. Her publisher comes up with the idea to have a ghostwriter help her push through. Their choice? None other than her favorite barista…Lilah Everwood! Lila is just as stunned as she’s her biggest fan.

the heart of the story…
I loved the magic between these two women. Elizabeth is all prickly and stubbornness, born from fear and grief, and Lilah is making the most of being able to work with her idol. Elizabeth’s son Grady, who also was mourning the loss of his father, joins that journey as he and Lilah find a spark.

the narration…
Jorjeana Marie brought the lightness and Courtney Patterson completely sold me as the starchy and elegant Elizabeth. This was an ideal pairing and I enjoyed their performances.

the bottom line…
Don’t be fooled by the shortness of this story as it has strong, relevant themes. It’s sweet and romantic, both in the writing process and the developing relationships between Lilah, Elizabeth and Grady. The Carolina coastal setting made it even more lovely.
