the heart of the story…
Archer was introduced in Single Dad Dilemma and I have to admit I wasn’t a fan but intrigued to learn more about the guy. My instincts were right because the reality behind the facade of his perfect life was heartbreaking. Remi was protective of her son, managing his shattered image of his idol and shielding her own heart, savagely broken in the past. These were the most compelling aspects of the story.

the narration…
Stephen Dexter and CJ Bloom are wonderful storytellers. I enjoyed their interpretations of their characters and overall performances.

the bottom line…
Archer Evans turned out to be the character I didn’t know I wanted more of and I enjoyed his backstory. Remi Evans was the right partner at the right time for him, interesting in her own right. I liked their relationship even though I didn’t quite connect with the romance. But there’s so much more here, strong themes that added weight, making this a much more enjoyable story.
