Run for Your Life by Lucinda Berry @lucindaberryauthor #ElenaRey @amazonpublishing @brilliancepublishing #RunForYourLife

the setup…
Riley Fletcher is out on her morning run, just starting to enjoy the sensation of her body kicking in and the lovely atmosphere. Suddenly she’s struck in the head from behind and her next memory is waking and finding herself bound, gagged and bleeding in a cabin in the woods. Her abductor is a masked man who’s not showing any mercy.

the heart of the story…
It’s Riley’s narrative in real time as she struggles to make sense of what’s happening, by whom and why. It’s chilling and as her injuries begin to take a toll, things get complicated.

the narration…
Elena Rey has a smooth, lovely tone and her performance was mesmerizing. I’m now an instant fan and can’t wait to see (and listen to) what she does next.

the bottom line…
I got swept up in this story from the onset and always in the background was the question of why she was abducted. Riley’s situation was bad enough but that element created most of the suspense and tension. I love when a short story can deliver the goods like this did.
