Well, the forecasters got it right this time. We are buried here in Greensboro NC under 12” (and counting) of snow and ice. It started after midnight Saturday and by the time I got up there was already 6” on the ground. It snowed all day, heavily, and we never lost power, a miracle in itself. However, we lost cable and internet near midnight and it still isn’t restored. I’m hotspotting for a few moments to catch up on emails, etc.
I’ll hopefully return tomorrow!
So pretty though!

I know I’m supposed to be frustrated by all this weather but I’m not. I don’t even care so much about the TV. But my internet!!!

Haha – yes! I love the snow! I think it gives us a nice excuse to have a break from the chaos of life. Enjoy and thanks for the follow!

We didn’t get as much. But it was supposed to change to some freezing rain overnight and then be just rain today. Instead it got colder and we got more snow! There was no point in me shoveling Sunday because now we won’t go out today. Tomorrow is supposed to be 40 and sunny so it will all melt anyway. We had no loss of power / Internet and we don’t have cable. So it’s a normal day where we stay inside for us. Anne – Books of My Heart

We got dumped on, Anne! Yes, our melt is supposed to start on Wednesday.

I never knew you were in NC! I’m so excited! We want to move there next year so I’ll be starting looking for jobs down there soon 😊

I live in the central part of the state. Where are you interested in relocating?

The Raleigh area. Probably more on the I95 side initially as one kid is in Jacksonville and one in Georgia and ‘im indoors will be staying in NY to finish up here. The plan is to rent at first while deciding exactly where I’d like us to buy.

Job market is great in Raleigh and there are so many wonderful communities. I spent a lot of time there in my old job (never lived there) and enjoyed all it has to offer, especially culturally. It’s a nice transition from New York (I landed here after my stay in NYC with a 16-year layover in Northern VA/DC😏).

Omg, that’s a lot of snow! Well at least you didn’t lose power. Reading anything good during this time?

I did! I finished a book, Murder on Lexington Avenue by Victoria Thompson and continued listening to Desolation Mountain by William Kent Krueger.

Beautiful pictures, Jonetta! I am sorry to hear about your internet, and I was looking for your post this morning! Happy you are safe and warm. Lots of snow- I think it may even be too much for me. It was heavy on all my shrubs and outdoor plants (to the point of almost breaking them), so I had to work hard to get it off. It’s only December! 😂 I hope your internet comes back on soon! ♥️

Thanks, Jennifer! I lived in Northern Virginia for quite a few years and this beats anything we had there during that time.
Internet came back around 3:00 pm…yay!

I know!! Got cable and internet back this afternoon. The power flickered three times and we held our breath. No other incidents. Losing power is awful.

Sure is pretty, but I’m not a big snow fan! Good thing I live in California! I can see it on the mountains that’s good enough for me! Stay safe and warm!

Thanks, Berit! When I had to make my way through it to get to work, I wasn’t a fan. Now that I don’t have to do that, I can enjoy snow days like this.

Oh absolutely if I could stay home all day when it rained I’d love the rain! Probably the same for snow!

It looks beautiful! Is that amount of snow normal for North Carolina?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Heavens no! At least not in this region, maybe sometimes in the western mountains. We normally will get snowfalls in the range of 3” – 6” at most. I’ve never seen this here.

That’s what I was thinking but I was second-guessing myself looking at those pictures!! I couldn’t imagine it would get so extreme in wintertime. Stay safe and warm!

Thank you! I took these at about 10:00 am before we added about 4 more inches.

I had no idea you were in NC! I’m in the Cary/Morrisville area; I’ve lived here since 1995. We got about 8 in and of course are snowed in too! Sorry to hear about your cable and internet but glad they’re back on. Thankfully, we didn’t lose power or anything but I think we’ll be stuck in the house until Thurs. That’s fine with me! Stay warm and safe till the thaw!

Thanks, Stephanie! That’s a lot for your area, also. Yes, I’m prepared to be in here until Thursday when the temps soar. But, I’ll bet my husband will try to get out and about today. He can see clear roads from our house and that will be too tempting.

You’re welcome! It is. I can’t remember the last time we had this much. My oldest son had to go out today and said the roads weren’t too bad, but I don’t drive at all until the snow is completely gone from the roads…I’m such a nervous driver when it’s sunny that driving in snow is not happening. I hope you’re husband made it safely out today if he went out.

Surprisingly, he opted not to go out! I’m like you, if I need to shovel to get out of my driveway, no deal.

Oh funny! Haha! I don’t even like walking in it, so driving is definitely not happening. Of course I’m a klutz and fall a lot, so ice and snow are not my friend…that could be why I don’t like it either! At least a warm up is on the way!!

Yikes, that’s a ton of snow. But it’s beautiful to look at! You know, from afar … preferably while next to a fireplace … with a blanket … and hot chocolate.
